PRINCIPAL ARCHITECT

Geoffrey J Lan Hun Kuen is holder of a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and a Master of Architectural Design. After completing his International Baccalaureate, Geoffrey leaves Mauritius to study Architecture in the UK. During his final year of study, his design excellence is rewarded when his work is nominated for the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) President’s Medal. That same year, his design work is chosen amongst 250 other entries to be the School of Architecture’s entry at the RIBA South Award. After graduating, Geoffrey begins his architectural career at OFA in Oxford, a multidisciplinary firm, where he is exposed to other design fields such as lighting design, movie making, and video editing. At OFA, he works on the refurbishment of Keble College at The University of Oxford, and the new city library in Varna, Bulgaria. Throughout this time, Geoffrey travels to many European cities, participates in various competitions, and attends many field trips, where he builds on his architectural knowledge and expertise.

Geoffrey decides to come back to Mauritius in 2015. He joins a well-established architectural firm, where he acquires invaluable knowledge while working on high-end residential and resort projects. Some of his major projects include Anahita The Resort, One and Only Le Saint Geran Hotel and Resort, and Haute Rive at Azuri.

At 26, he becomes one of the youngest members of the Professional Architects Council of Mauritius. A year later, he becomes a chartered member of the Royal Institute of British Architects. In 2019, Geoffrey starts his own office, GEL Consultants Ltd, where he plans to share his passion and vision for Architecture with his design team and his clients.
